Canby School District serves the greater Canby area — a scenic area of 85 square miles where rural and urban environments meet and thrive. Canby is situated just off the I-5 freeway and along Hwy 99E in Oregon’s famous Willamette Valley. Residents and visitors alike enjoy easy year-round access to Oregon’s public beaches, Mt. Hood recreational areas, Eastern Oregon’s high desert, and a wide array of cultural opportunities in Portland, Salem and surrounding communities.
Canby’s surrounding area is primarily agricultural, including landscape plant nurseries, flower farms, fruit and nut orchards, livestock, and timber. The city has an expanding light industrial area, many locally-owned businesses, and a variety of shopping and health services. Canby hosts the annual Clackamas County Fair and Rodeo, outdoor summer concerts in Wait Park, and performing arts events at the Richard R. Brown Fine Arts Center on the Canby High campus. Youth Clubs and sports teams fill the schools, gyms and athletic fields throughout the district.
Canby School District values the diversity and worth of all individuals and groups and is an equal opportunity educator and employer. Canby School District shall promote nondiscrimination and an environment free of harassment based on an individual’s race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, marital status or age or because of the race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, marital status or age of any other persons with whom the individual associates.
